Getting Down with my Bad Self

resolutions part one.

okay.

I never had a "re-cap" posting. so, let's do one now....

Suffice to say, the biggest thing that has ever happened to me, happened in 2004. I even swore it wouldn't happen....but it did. My friends said "you are going to have a really understanding guy" while shaking their heads. (to which I responded "why do you always say that after I re-decorate the living room? Stop saying that!) But it happened anyways. I got married.

And he IS!
  • He understands my work schedule (every day but sunday, as it happens right now)
  • He understands that I yell (sometimes at him, even) when I get stressed about things.
  • He accepts that I can't stand white walls, furniture or anything else. Color. He understands that I love color! While he doesn't love color, he lets me dabble and experiment. On everything but the cat. (Unless you count lobster collars as a color. I don't.)
  • He acknowledges that I can't really sit and watch "the game".
  • He likes my interesting get-ups, my hats and my loud tights.
  • He is supportive of bad haircuts. (which I am going through now)
But d, you say, this post is supposed to be about resolutions. Yes, yes. okay.

I have a standard list that includes the following:
1) travel
2) have more patience with students, people and life in general
3) eat better
4) work out more
5) get my "projects" done

I pretty much say the above every year.
This year, I am adding:
6) sell some of my junk on ebay
7) declutter the house/my life
8) save more money
9) meet one famous person
10) use our camping gear at least 3 times this summer!

I am posting this here to declare my intent to update this blog periodically throughout the year on my progress towards the aforementioned resolutions. You, internet, will hold me accountable for my progress!

You should try and stop loving your husband so much. It's making me want to throw up!

    Just joking....happy New Year.

Don't worry, Jen. She won't be saying nice things about me for at least a week. Not after the clod-ish things I said so clodishly yesterday.
